I've never in my life come close to the joy that I have now, being married and having our two boys. What made you two finally get married last year? RB: You and Sara had been on and off for 13 years. But to love someone means even if your heart is broken, you choose to get through it. You can have a feeling, and then feel like you don't want to be in that relationship anymore because of some problem. RB: You once said that love was a choice. I think a lot of people lose that in everyday life-when you come home from work every day, maybe you take for granted the time you have with your family. I'm on the road a lot, and it makes us appreciate our time together. When you're back in Nashville, do you and Sara have date nights? I have to work a lot harder at writing big-tempo, rocking songs. But love songs are what come naturally to me. RB: Your whole I Don't Dance album has so many songs about the different phases of love. I recorded a live acoustic version when I wrote it-that's what played at our wedding, and those vocals actually ended up on the record.
